Before travelling to Cuba, make sure you have everything on this checklist:

  1. Valid passport — must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Cuba.
  2. Cuba e-Visa — apply online through our application form. You cannot get one at the airport.
  3. Travel insurance — mandatory. Must cover medical expenses in Cuba. Keep proof with you.
  4. Return or onward flight ticket — you must show proof of departure from Cuba.
  5. D'Viajeros form — complete within 6 days of arrival using the link we provide with your e-Visa.
  6. Accommodation details — hotel name or casa particular address for your D'Viajeros form.

About the Cuba e-Visa

Since July 2025, Cuba replaced paper tourist cards with an electronic visa system. The e-Visa is mandatory for all air travellers visiting Cuba for tourism. It is valid for 90 days (extendable to 180) and valid for 12 months from issue.

Travel Insurance

Cuba requires all visitors to hold valid travel insurance that covers medical expenses. You may be asked to show proof at immigration. We recommend purchasing a policy that specifically covers Cuba.

D'Viajeros Form

The D'Viajeros form is Cuba's advance passenger information declaration. When you purchase your e-Visa from us, we provide a direct link that pre-fills your e-Visa number. Complete it within 6 days of your arrival. After submission, you receive a PDF with a QR code to present at check-in and immigration.

For US Travellers

US citizens must travel under one of 12 OFAC-approved categories. Most choose "Support for the Cuban People" by staying in casas particulares and eating at private restaurants. Non-US citizens who have visited Cuba should note this does not affect their ESTA status if they travelled legally.
