Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Cuba e-Visas
General Questions
What is a Cuba e-Visa?
The Cuba e-Visa is an electronic entry permit that replaced the paper tourist card in July 2025. It allows tourists to visit Cuba for up to 90 days (extendable to 180). You receive your e-Visa code by email after applying online.
Do I need a visa to visit Cuba?
Yes. Almost all nationalities require an e-Visa to enter Cuba as a tourist. A small number of countries are exempt — check our Countries Exempt page for details.
How long is the e-Visa valid?
The e-Visa is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and allows a single entry with a stay of up to 90 days, extendable by another 90 days at local immigration offices in Cuba.
Can I get a visa at the airport?
No. Since July 2025, you must apply for your e-Visa online before travelling. Airlines will not allow you to board without a valid e-Visa.
What is the D'Viajeros form?
D'Viajeros is Cuba's mandatory digital traveller declaration. It collects your health, customs, and immigration information. When you purchase your e-Visa from us, we provide a direct link that pre-fills your e-Visa number automatically. You must complete it within 6 days of your arrival in Cuba.
Processing & Delivery
How long does processing take?
Standard service: 3-5 working days. Priority service: same working day if applied before 4 PM (Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays).
How will I receive my e-Visa?
Your e-Visa code and D'Viajeros link are delivered by email. You will not receive a physical document.
Can I change my travel dates after applying?
Your e-Visa remains valid even if your travel dates change. You only need to update the D'Viajeros form with your new dates.
What if I don't receive my confirmation email?
Check your spam/junk folder first. If you still cannot find it, email us at info@cubavisa.uk and we will resend your confirmation during working hours.
Pricing & Payment
How much does a Cuba e-Visa cost?
Standard service: GBP 22 / USD 28 / EUR 26 per person. Priority service adds GBP 8 / USD 10 / EUR 10 per application (one-time surcharge, not per person).
Is the price per person or per application?
The base price is per person. The priority surcharge is per application (a single fee regardless of how many applicants).
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure Viva Wallet payment gateway. All payments are processed in GBP.
Can I get a refund?
E-Visas are non-refundable once your application is submitted, as the e-Visa number is automatically allocated. Please ensure all details are correct before submitting.
Special Cases
Can US citizens travel to Cuba?
Yes. US citizens can legally travel to Cuba under one of 12 OFAC-approved categories. Most travellers choose "Support for the Cuban People." Our e-Visa is fully OFAC compliant. See our USA page for more details.
What about cruise passengers?
Cruise travellers are the one exception — they still require a paper tourist card obtained directly from the Cuban Consulate. The e-Visa system applies to air travellers only.
Do Canadian citizens need an e-Visa?
If flying direct from Canada, your e-Visa may be included in your airline ticket. If flying via a stopover (e.g. through the US or Europe), you will need to purchase an e-Visa separately.
I hold dual nationality — which passport should I use?
Use the passport you will present at Cuban immigration. Ensure the details on your e-Visa application match that passport exactly.
